FCSB beat Rapid 4-1 for third straight Reghecampf win
FCSB came from behind at Arena Națională, with Aymen Boutoutaou scoring twice after coming on at half-time.
FCSB turned a half-time deficit into a 4-1 win over Rapid on Saturday, 24 October 2026, extending Laurențiu Reghecampf’s run to three victories in three matches since his return to the bench. The result moved FCSB to 21 points after 13 Superliga rounds and cut the gap to second-placed Rapid to six points.
It was FCSB’s first clear win under Reghecampf after the 1-0 victory over Oțelul Galați and the 2-1 win at FC Voluntari. It also came in front of 38,353 spectators at Arena Națională, the highest attendance recorded so far in the current top-flight season.
The match was interrupted in the ninth minute because smoke from pyrotechnics reduced visibility. Rapid handled the restart better and went in front two minutes later, when Latif Ouedraogo crossed first time and Filip Stojilkovic finished with a volley.
Rapid had further openings before half-time. Ouedraogo appealed for a penalty six minutes after the goal, but play continued, and Dobre also had a chance in added time. FCSB had started with pressure of their own, including an early Cisotti effort just wide, but reached the interval 1-0 down.
The second half changed the match. Karlo Muhar equalised in the 58th minute with a shot from outside the area, helped by a deflection off Alexandru Pașcanu that wrong-footed goalkeeper Ungureanu.
There was still a moment when Rapid could have taken back control. Stojilkovic entered the area and went past Târnovanu, but Dawa cleared the danger. FCSB broke quickly from that phase, and Cisotti hit the post after running clear.
Aymen Boutoutaou, introduced at half-time, then pushed FCSB ahead in the 69th minute. Joao Paulo made it 3-1 in the 79th minute with a placed shot, before Boutoutaou scored again two minutes later from close range to settle the match.
Reghecampf said the response after the break mattered more than the scoreline. “The difference today was made by the team, the group,” he said. “For me that is the most important thing and every day I work and try to create a strong group.”
He also praised Rapid’s goal, calling it “one of the most beautiful goals in this championship”, but said FCSB had been the better side over the match. He added that confidence should grow “from match to match” after a run that began against Oțelul Galați and continued at Voluntari.
Rapid coach Daniel Pancu accepted that his side had not controlled the game, despite leading at the break. “From the first second, from when the match started, I did not feel that Rapid could win this game,” he said.
Rapid had been allocated 8,000 tickets under the reciprocal agreement between the clubs. The two teams are due to meet again in the regular season at the end of February 2027, also at Arena Națională.
Both sides now turn to the Cupa României. Rapid are scheduled to face Corvinul Hunedoara in Petroșani, while FCSB travel to Gloria Bistrița.
